Also, I feel so bad for all the brothers, especially Leo, Raph and Mikey. Not only is their brother hurt, physically and mentally, but they can't even do anything cause it was (unintentionally) their fault. Their relationship has broken, and they can't even fix it, because not only would Donnie think that they are lying about being nice again when they try to help, he can't even see them before having a panic attack, thinking that they are going to hurt him (or worse, kill him).

I can't wait to see what would happen in the future chapters!

honestly ive been rolling around the particular angst with the other three in my head, and i've been excited to dive deeper into them and how they're handling it but i need to get through a particular part of the story before i can properly switch to their povs, but you better bet it'll be happening!!!

its the pain of not being able to show him the kindness and gentleness he deserves after everything that happens to him. despite his fear and initial trepidation, he practically folds into april and splinter when they reach for him, and he panics when he sees them leave, and he uses them as a lifeline when he's scared. already twice now they've talked him down from a spiral of panic and comforted him (although theyve been unable to do it when the others are around, so they always have to make them leave. even when they dont want to!) and it's somewhat established that it's not even normally how donnie responds to trauma. he usually needs a while to sit and process before he can come for comfort, and trying to push him does not work at All, but now more than anything all that he wants and needs is the affection they CANT GIVE HIM because he's utterly terrified of them, even though its ultimately the most important thing for him right now. more than anything donnie wants his brothers to keep him safe, but he thinks they're gone, and he doesn't know when the curse started, or what part of it was how they truly feel and what part of it was the curse speaking; and even if he did, they are a trigger to him and there's nothing he can do about it.

and for raph and mikey in particular, who are so tactile and affectionate (and are just as comforted by affection as the person theyre trying to comfort in most cases) its fucking devastating. with leo with his hidden low self esteem its still awful for him, but he knows what this feels like, he's only acting so different because he can't fall back on his old coping mechanisms; because they're the thing that HURT donnie, because the curse weaponized them, so he's turning to anger (in ME he is intentionally trying to start fights because he wants to be yelled at LOL) and trying to stay productive instead. but raph and mikey generally have always had the impression of themselves that they're Good People (mikey is very confident and he hasn't really been disillusioned at all yet, and raph is someone i see to be very secure in the idea that he's a good person, which can sometimes make taking responsibility/handling guilt difficult for him. although he matures substantially around the time of the movie) so its just. shattering.

mikey never saw himself CAPABLE of doing something this horrible (he's just a kid! sometimes he struggles to see past himself!) and with raph it was a confirmation of his worst insecurity; to some extent he has always seen donnie and mikey as so much more fragile than him (he does canonically understand that donnie is very sensitive/takes rejection super seriously, and he worries about hurting his feelings. ty donnie's gifts for the brains and brawn fuel i use you so liberally), and especially when he was younger he grappled with this fear of hurting them badly on accident (and he probably had in play before), and even with the self-restraint he displayed under the curse, he still caused all this CARNAGE... and there's nothing he can do about it. donnie can't even hear his voice right now without screaming. they both need to comfort in order to feel comforted and that's been ripped away from them, and they're doing so fucking awful. cannot wait to write their povs honestly i have a lot of ideas >:)

Buck Ruffler - Fizzarolli + lisp (Helluva Boss/Alex Brightman) <- ik ppl mostly do Daffy Duck for Buck, but I think Fizz would mostly fit him

Graham Ness Payser - Jerma985 <- this ACTUALLY fits him quite well and I love it (im a jerma fan lol). Plus most ppl hc Jerma to be his VA/voiceclaim

Chip Revvington - Nick Offerman (aka Ron Swanson from "Parks and Recreation" and Beef Tobin from "The Great North") <- I love Nick Offerman, especially in his role of playing Bill from "The Last Of Us" TV series, so this fits him perfectly. Ik some people think of Chip like Bojack Horseman, but I don't so sorry :/ (plus I never watched bojack; but I do love "Tuca and Bertie" from the same producer)

Barry Briefcase - Bob Belcher (Bob's Burgers/H. Jon Benjamin) <- I think his murmurs would DEFINITELY be sounding like Bob himself. Plus I like to think that he, too, isn't much of a social person

Prester Virgil - David Harbour <- okay, i'll admit, I'm a BIIIIIG fan of David himself since he plays Hopper in ''Stranger Things" and his role in "Violent Night" (plus hes hot, ngl)

Benjamin Biggs - Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane (Harley Quinn show/Rahul Kohli) <- I LOVE this version of Scarecrow in the show (this one plus the BTAS version and the "Batman: The Long Halloween" too) and his British accent is REALLY amazing imo. Shame that Scarecrow died early in the show tho :( justice for my boy

I also find Ace easy to write because I do feel that I've met people like him in real life, so I think of the dumb shit they would do lol. He reminds me a lot of a few of my friends, maybe that's why I feel protective over him.

Considering the lack of setup the queer characters in S3 had in prev dialogue that the audience was somehow supposed to pick up on (but the casual viewer naturally mostly didn't) from a mere one or two moments, bi!Ted is absolutely canon to me.

Trent in S1&2: Basically just vibes. He has a daughter, people would assume straight by default - i expect the writers did at the time. He is seen at a pub with a man.

Keeley in S1&2: Makes comments about how hot Rebecca is, and how she'd dip her toe back in the lady pool for her. Yes, bi!Keeley was canon to me then, but it could always be biphobically written off as a joke, in the same vein as Ted's comments above.

So Jade broke out Sunday because of a deal with Robin. They drill it into you that Jade has some pretty harsh deals so what did Robin give up then? I've seen the theory that Robin gave up the memories of/connection with her brother and 🥺 terrified of being hit with even more sibling tragedy

One hole in this is that Robin on the Express mentions Sunday. I know that these aren't super canon or anything but it feels like a discrepancy worth noting (note: i am coping)

And Stellaron Hunter Sunday is a pretty popular theory at this point. Wonder how that's all gonna go down and if it will even happen like that in the end. The possibility that he will decide to continue with his ideals and not change despite being beaten in with the power of friendship (and a train)? I'm honestly interested in the idea, it feels like the opposite of what people would expect

Helloooo defend in place/mayday anon :) sad to report I did not finish my s4+s5 watch/rewatch this weekend (tall task in hindsight plus anirudh tweets dropped right before I was about to start jinx of all episodes lol) BUT I did finish up to 5x10 which means I got to defend in place yayyy! General s5 thoughts 1. Watched ghost stories for the first time and its not nearly as bad as I thought it would be (although 618 and 710 didnt exist when this seemed to be consensus worst ep. So). I get how this ep might be hard to watch on a weekly basis but its pretty fine while binging and also features crucial henren/karen lore like … also noooo way chim really said he was going to bring buck near death, revive him with his paramedic skills and then kill him. Did the writers know. Lmao. 2. Taylor kelly stuff is not nearly as bad as I remember it from what I had watched. Its just painfully obvious her and buck should be friends and not even because their physical chemistry is outright bad just their dynamic feels super friend-ish. And they put all that development time into taylor when they should have developed bucktaylor instead, like how karen was developed after henren, for example. Bucktaylor ily scene still hits like nails on a chalkboard though. God forbid we have to live through something like that again 3. Ravi deadass in every episode. When will my sweet prince return in this capacity 4. Forgot about athena hitting harry :( definitely one of the things that I had issues with from before and was just as shocked now as before like why did that need to happen :(

Okay okay NOW defend in place thoughts !!!!!! I really really liked it, definitely a top 3 s5 episode for me probably (the other 2 I really love are 5x11 and 5x12). Michael/grant family proposal montage… genuinely top (fun) montage in the show. Up there with jinx and stuck/chris and poker date montages imo it was so cute. And while I really loved the ep the whole time I was like damn we were robbed of david content so bad 😭😭😭 he was so good in this ep and the s4 michael bobby ep like I just want more I cant believe we’ll never see him again. Okay and the ravi lore. Im going to be honest I spent years thinking the ravi cancer child thing was fanon/ravi begins spec LMAO like I saw gifs of that ravi hen scene a few weeks ago and was like damn… that lore is canon😭 but yay I wish the show would just once expand on his lore beyond surface level. And the defend in place call was so good although I will say it was giving greys anatomy massively though. Before I kinda wished the show would have done more with david/hen dr stuff but honestly after this Im glad it didnt bc I swear Ive watched this exact stuff happen in greys before lol. But yeah overall what a great send off for michael like so good. On my first watch years ago I was always kind of like okay michael is fun but he doesnt really get to contribute to the main part of the show much outside of being a dad and in that sense I always found his character a bit weak/neglible. But now on this watch Im like why didnt they give us more of this michael!! Copaganda aside, The athena team up when theyre searching for harry was so good and it was probably when I started thinking damn this cast is really missing rockmund in recent seasons. But at least they went this direction with the send off, if theres one thing you can trust 911 for its an eventual happy ending. (And also side note. Amidst the summer of bpreg and domesticverse some of the scene in this episode had me really in my feels. Yay)

I have SUCH a soft spot for david, we really don't get to see much of him but i loved their meet cute, loved him in there goes the neighborhood and he's just!!! ugh!!! super hot and so sweet and such a good partner to michael.

lol I've never seen grey's anatomy but i can def see that...anyway yay i'm glad you enjoyed the episode. on my rewatch it really hit home for me how much the episode was grant-nash focused (like you said, with the fun little proposal montage) and it made me realize how much i really do miss them. Looking back, part of what really drew me into the show in s2 was all the family stuff--Buck and Maddie first & foremost (also Eddie & Chris), but also definitely the Grants and how they navigated adding Bobby to their family. It was such a good storyline and they really continued to showcase how special their family is through the next couple seasons!!!

oh man. theoretically in a l4d au luis would've helped develop the green flu yeah? sure it's a naturally occurring virus in l4d canon (maybe. we're not really sure where it comes from cus ceda doesnt say shit but ellis mentions the government using bio-bombs in one of his keith stories so it could be a bioweapon?) but this is an au we can do what we want.

anygays im just imagining leon getting infected. we know better-safe-than-sorry-guy (i call him scout cus his va is the same as scout from tf2) is human when we first find him but experiencing extreme paranoia and some compulsions then a few minutes later he fully turns, going from able to speak and function to choking and growling and fully mutated (either into a hunter, boomer, or smoker) so there's always the possibility of a rapid transformation too. im thinking leon falling behind a bit while theyre walking because he's coughing and chokin and shit n he falls to his knees and luis is all like "bro whats wrong!!" and he gets to watch as leon Turns Before His Eyes. even better if he turns into a hunter cus if you look closely at their models they don't have eyes. we can't be exactly sure what Happens to their eyes when they turn but the two most popular headcanons are both equally brutal-- either Luis has to watch Leon's eyes quite literally melt out of his skull or he gets to watch him claw his own eyes out. Fun!

BUT there's graffiti in one of the safe rooms arguing over how long it actually takes to turn-- whether it's 20 minutes, 2 hours, overnight, or some other wacky chunk of time. so there's also the thought of Leon turning slowly. progressively becoming irritable and irrational and confused and him slipping in and out of conciousness for days until Luis goes to check his temp one day and he fucking Lunges.

and if leon turns and luis makes it out alive imagine the Guilt. he feels awful enough in re4 canon when there's a cure,,, but the green flu mutates too often to develop a proper cure for it. if leon gets infected and he isnt immune then he's just. done. theres nothing that can help him at that point. and luis already feels so goddamn guilty about the millions of people he's killed and now leon's gone too and he cant help but visualize every single person who had somebody ripped from them by his hands.

oh man and if luis has to put leon down? its joever. that man would Never recover. i dont even know if he'd keep trying to survive at that point. maybe just for that shred of hope of developing a cure (even though he knows it'd be damn-near impossible but it's the only thing hes got, dammit) and stopping this whole disaster.

First i want to talk about the new chapter itself before my theories. THE WHOLE FIGHT BIT WITH TULIA AND ELAKSHI!!! IT WAS GOOD I ENJOYED IT SM!!! I hope Elakshi and Tulia managed to get out with not many injuries during the attack. But this fic has turned strangely into a character study of them both, which wasn't really intended; but writing this has somehow given me an insight into both of their characters, more helpfully Gojo's. Although I always say that I feel IW Gojo is quite significantly different to jjk canon Gojo--mainly because canon Gojo is lonely lonely lonely, and IW has his 'person'--but I think I still try to work at it, you know? Writing tips���I’ve given some in this reply here but I’m going to do a whole writing advice post in more detail directly after this one (here it is, since I’ve had the request a few times now, counting both ao3 and tumblr, lol. Most are just tips I’ve stolen from other people across the years that I’ve found actually work, over all the billions of other wank writing advice things you get. But, honestly, the only piece of advice you ever really need is JUST WRITE!!! PRACTISE!!! YOU WILL GET BETTER, I PROMISE!!!

Everyone's sounds a bit rubbish when they get started (dear lord, mine did), but if you keep on writing and keep on enjoying it I promise you will get better. It's very flattering that you asked, though, and I'll post something proper too.

oh my gosh i feel like im in your askbox sm recently and i hope thats okay!! i think of things and youre one of the first people i think of talking to because we have a lot of similar opinions and also i really enjoy talking to you!

with that being said, i just realized how odd it is that no one acknowledges the way that steve and robin were integral pieces of s4's final plot against vecna. they also dont get much recognition for their contributions in s3 (which. i dont agree with but i think its maybe easier to write them off as not as important to the grande scheme of things since they didnt directly fight a supernatural being) but in s4 they DID!! everyone talks about nancy shooting vecna and having these moments but steve and robinwere RIGHT there too and i never hear anyone talk about it. makes me really sad honestly!

(also dont even get me started on steve and no one really recognizing his worth in prior seasons. like s1 with attacking that demogorgon to save nancy and jonathan and in s2 as solidifying his role as the kids' mom babysitter and a huge part in that season finale working out too...)

Okay it really is weird how no one acknowledges that Robin and Steve were very very very important with taking down vecna. Yes yes yes!! Everyone talks about Nancy shooting vecna which canon played up way too much ngl - like they kept mentioning about the shot and how she shouldn’t miss. But Robin and Steve doing the mock tails and throwing the fire at him was the most important part considering that they all know that heart/fire is the thing that does weaken him. Literally if Robin and Steve didn’t throw the mock tails (or whatever they are I’m forgetting English words lol) there is no way that shoot would have actually done shit. I’m not trying to downplay Nancy’s shoot because it was important, however it doesn’t make sense that Robin and Steve aren’t praised for literally throwing the objects that are going to objectively do the most damage since they know that heat/fire actually does harm the hind-mive!! Steve and Robin did so much in season 4 like they (mainly Robin lol) literally were the ones to even figure out where Eddie was! He was literally the witness that they needed to put some of the puzzle pieces together - and figure out what was happening. Robin figured out the entire point of music being vecna’s victims’ saviors! Steve was literally questioning shit left and right which ended up saving a lot of their asses. Steve also was a big part in saving max at the cemetery in episode 4, because if he didn’t notice her acting a little bit stiff and etc and saying that she’s had enough time: they would have gotten to max way too late.

Ngl I’m also confused how people don’t praise Steve and Robin for what they did in season 3 - like they’re sooo important in the battle and way before then. They both figure out the Russian code that lets them know that the russians are involved with the ud shit (yes hopper,Joyce,and Murray were also investigating the russians but also Robin and Steve didn’t know that at all). And also they literally figured out the Russian code on like a damn day - one fucking day. And Robin even says that because they did some amazing shit with that (while yea we joke that Robin and Steve have one brain cell between them - I would also say that they’re actually very competent when they’re with one another and they both have the brain cell when they’re together - they just selectively have moments where they both have the brain cells when together).

Omg omg omg yes yes yes about everything in your last paragraph. It’s either people just see Steve as a comedic element (which is funny considering that he doesn’t mainly become the comedic character until like season 3-4) or people just don’t like Steve so they immediately knock off all importance that Steve has with the narrative. It’s just some people are willing to hate him and have a grudge against him (idk why though honestly) that they’re not willing to see past their own agendas of what Steve is and what he means to the narrative. Because he does mean a lot to the narrative and maybe it’s also because: people cannot see past his season 1 status. And I think it goes beyond seeing him as a douche - it’s more because in season 1 he was more of a secondary character. Which honestly could be why they just write him off considering as this fandom has two immediate modes when seeing a secondary character: they either get completely obsessed with them or they hate them for no reason at all. Sooo honestly my thinking could be it atp but also idk honestly. But yeahhh I find it odd how people write off Steve as someone who has been important and helpful in the show considering that he’s saved all of the mains and is literally the one asking questions. He’s the one who asks questions as the others kind of just go with everything especially in season 1 and 2 but Steve asks questions!!! Which is literally what they need as they absolutely do not fucking understand this shit which is also why I’m annoyed when fandom plays the ‘dumb’ card with him because YES THEY SHOULD BE ASKING QUESTIONS!!!

And even when they deviate slightly from the show's canon, its within the realm of reason (like Adrien's hero Ladybug persona being slightly different in Kaleidoscope AU since he's a solo hero)

🕯️how do you think engaging with each other through tumblr, twitter, comments, kudos, creates healthy fandom experiences? How do you deal with that if you're not a social person/experience social anxiety?

When people curate their fandom experience and treat each other with respect and kindness, it can really create one of the best experiences of community. There's something really special about obsessing over a piece of media and its characters and find other people who also obsess over it. I've always been really attached to my interests, and IRL I've known other people who've also liked those interests too, but just never to the same extent. Finding other people who like these things just as much as I do is incredibly validating.

I am someone who struggles with crippling social anxiety. Honestly every time I've joined a fandom discord server I have to try not to panic about people welcoming/greeting me. People are just being nice but it's just a reaction I can't help. And there's numerous times when I see a discussion happening and want to join in, but my anxious brain cell stops me (what if i'm misunderstanding the topic? what if i derail the conversation in a bad way? what if i'm interrupting someone else? what if no one actually likes me being here and will get annoyed if I try to join their conversation?? do I just sound selfish if I talk about something I know or do?). It's hard, but when I do persevere through those moments of anxiety my experience has overall been very positive! Being a part of a fandom has only helped me become more comfortable with myself in all sorts of ways. I started drawing a writing again after so many years of not doing it because of the ML fan community! I've found a kind and supportive corner to be comfortable in and I'm so glad to be here even when working through my low moments!

sunghoon was definitely obsessed from the moment he smelled reader come into the city for fucking reaaaaaaaal. he tried to play it cool and everything, but man, he wanted to be what she wanted and needed and intentionally released his lure just to make sure he's not forcing her ;-; i love vampy hoon, fr, he got so soft for her.

as for jungwon, i could talk about this character for ages. but yeah, in my head when i started writing jungwon, he was meant to be a semi-love interest who is entirely bisexual. which obv happened, considering i peppered the story with jay too...huh.......wonder what would've happened if sunghoon never cared for reader and it was just jaywon and reader..........brain is mush........ANYWAY, jungwon is 100% meant to be reader's platonic soulmate. one where, unlike with romantic relationships, there is no jealousy, clinging is wanted, you can talk about anything and everything, and the feelings run so fucking deep that pretty much nothing can sever them. honestly, they're meant to be life long partners in one way or the other and they'd find each other in ever universe.

it's canon that jungwon will get turned at some point by reader, because she can't bare to let him die in any other way [much like sunghoon for her].

that being said, i do not think sunghoon in this fic would find any type of beauty in watching reader grow old. he doesn't want to see her in pain, or frail, or anything like that. at current times in the fic, she's in her prime, she's confident, she loves the world around her. if he had watched her die, i genuinely think sunghoon would have managed to kill himself off too. plus, not to mention, it's not always promised that people will die of old age and this is what really pushes sunghoon. he doesn't want to never be able to hold her again because of a freak accident, or some other death she could face.

so, why not do it himself? again, she dies only to live forever, and again, reader loves being alive so ofc she was like "HEELLLLL YEAH!!!"

Hope do you feel about the series finale of Teen Titans?

^ that is the short answer lol.

Long answer is I was fucking DEVASTATED. Like I was 11 when the last episode aired and It was the first time that kind of thing had ever happened to me. I just remember staring blankly at the screen as the credits played over the theme music and when I actually processed that not only were there no more episodes but THAT was the last one… that they brought Terra BACK but it wasn’t actually terra, not really, and I had to watch bb’s heart break AGAIN and I would NEVER see what happened next or how bb processed it or what happened to terra after that…it felt like the worst kind of cliffhanger. My sister was PISSED and I was SO confused and upset.

(And of course there’s the main reason it was cancelled to wrestle with as well, that it wasn’t selling enough toys ‘because too many girls like it’ and instead of making toys girls might want they just ended one of the most popular shows on the network. Great job Cartoon Network.)

As an adult and someone able to analyze the last episode a bit better, I’m not as mad at it. It was honestly a good episode, and a good cap on a beast boy centric season. The fact that terra was alive and making her own choices for the first time was great for her character, and though it’s sad that her journey means letting go of good memories along with bad (I DO think she remembers way more than she lets on), it makes sense. Agreeing to let her go was a big moment for beast boy. Us agreeing to let the show go…is another matter entirely. Idk if they knew this would be the finale when they wrote it and I wouldn’t be surprised either way. For a season finale, it was great. For a series finale, it’s not the worst I’ve seen lmao, but I think they would have preferred an episode that focused more on the team at large. That’s how we got Trouble in Tokyo, which is….good! It’s fine! I don’t have much to say about it, honestly. A decently written extra long episode with some canon robstar and nice animation. It’s more along the lines of what I would expect from a series finale from that era of television. Not an ending, but a one last hurrah, and the promise that these characters will go on as we have imagined them to.

Do I want a real teen titans reboot? Nah. It wouldn’t be the same. And I haven’t watched CN in years; I’ve long aged out of who they would write it for (and the gritty adult titans doesn’t suit my tastes either). Every single one of us who wished on that monkeys paw got TTG instead lmao. Which is….sigh. Whatever. Some of y’all like it I guess? It only ever felt to me like CN spitting on our faces and calling it rain. (Please don’t come to my inbox telling me it’s actually good and to watch it lol I will not, but im glad it makes u happy.)

hi, two anons!! im glad you guys liked my nxx team polycule stuff!! i'll answer these in one go, my "headcanon" (in quotes because i think this kinda turned into a character analysis/minific of sorts HAHA) being what first anon asked, How They Get Together.

heads up, wc of this is 1.9k words long so buckle up for a bit of a read jfsjdfkjbf

because first anon, youre right!!! the boys are stupendously complicated which i love so so much but canon has also shown us clearly that each of the boys' quirks and habits and tendencies causes a lot of (mostly played for laughs) friction. the bickering, the backhanded insults, the "im the best one here" preening contests. theyre all SOOOO RIDICULOUS and it is hilarious but yep! the boys r complex!! and that means this beautiful ship, imo, has a lot of phases to get to the actual romantic relationship bit.

how they get together, in my opinion, starts because of mc.

not in the sense that she matchmakes them all, but like.

phase 1 of the nxx team polycule is this:

through being in love with her (which we all know the boys 100% are), each of the boys come to terms with their own flaws and weaknesses. it's very apparent to me in all the story thus far that these boys are flawed as hell, it's very compelling but even more compelling to me is how all of them also do intense mental gymnastics to Not Confront Those Flaws. like, marius is a dickbag always teasing and toeing the line of insincerity, vyn is a controlling mf who always tries to sway situations to his benefit, artem is so repressed to the point that he has genuine trouble with emotions, luke is a self sacrificial bastard and also a huge hypocrite about how no, actually, hes the only one that should be hiding his pain and being dishonest, no dishonesty from other people!! in the beginning of the story, all the boys have their flaws and seem to have just kinda...not addressed how those flaws are harming them and the people around them.

and then mc rolls around and they all fall in love with her. and she sees those flaws and she doesnt let them slide. she challenges the boys in her own ways to see another side of the situation, to acknowledge what theyre doing. she doesnt want to get rid of flaws, thats impossible and also not cool. she just has this beautiful hope for like, all of humanity, that goodness can prevail with the right work. so when she sees her beloved nxx boys, she believes that for them as well.

which leads to phase 2 of the nxx team polycule:

the boys, more aware of themselves, become more aware of each other.

they werent Unaware of the others of course. it's just that they didnt like...truly connect on a personal level just yet. they saw the other teammembers with their emotional armor and flaws and saw a wall that wasnt worth looking past.

but after mc makes them realize that hey, flaws arent the end of the world actually, it's alright and the person behind them may just be worth it, the boys like. end up understanding the others. A LOT OF THIS BIT IS UNINTENTIONAL, ON THEIR PARTS KJDSBFS. like they stumble into understanding each other by accident, they didnt plan it, but over the course of nxx investigations, it's inevitable that they end up seeing the depths of the others. i delve into this a little bit in my fanfic "filler eps of the lost gold" where the boys are just going thru their actions and then trip over another boy's fears or desires and through that, gain a deeper understanding mutually.

and with understanding, sometimes, comes trust.

phase 3 of the nxx team polycule goes like this:

everybody in this team, whether they like it or not, whether they know it or not, has a heart that wants to give love so desperately.

marius lives in a world full of snakes so he cant have his heart on his sleeve for his own protection. vyn wants to be seen as perfect and the heart is inherently messy so he holds it back. artem for a very very long time was focused on work and success and achievement that he neglected his heart. and luke has been giving love all his life in a sense but in a way thats hidden.

all these tendencies that are brought upon their life circumstances results in this: they want to love honestly but they havent been able to do this

until mc. and all of them want to push back whatever fears or patterns their life has instilled in them because they see her and see somebody so unwaveringly good that all their hearts begin giving love to her to make her happy and to make themselves happy as well.

but heres the thing. the boys dont just see mc. by this point, they have connected and understood and come to trust each other as well, and the consequence of that is that They Can See Each Other Now Too, Truly.

and heres the thing. all of the boys are unwaveringly good as well.

one by one, each of the boys realize that what they feel for the other boys in the team starts to...change. yeah theyre all friends, they pick on each other a lot of the time, but the bedrock of the relationship is solid and strong now. but when marius is with luke, marius sees a light inside of luke so bright that he seems unaware that he gives off. when artem is with vyn, artem sees a goodness inside of vyn that hesitates to make itself obvious and known because vyn is scared of getting hurt thanks to it. all of them see the other and their goodness and, unbidden, their hearts want to give love to each other as well.

and because theyre all a bit stupid in their own way theyre like, huh, weird! wonder why this feeling is so familiar! and yet i cant seem to name it...and then they all independently compare these feeling with the feelings they have for mc, a feeling they do know the name of, and theyre like.

WAIT.

THESE FEELINGS ARE...VERY BASICALLY EXACTLY WHAT I FEEL FOR MC.

which only means one thing: theyve fallen in love with everybody else

marius: //goes to his studio to Think and sees that a bunch of his recent art actually had little crumbs of these feelings already, etched into the brushstrokes and scenes. has an emotional crisis about it

vyn: //records a 1 hour long entry in his audio diary to examine and gain control of his feelings but by the end of the hour all he knows is that he wants to hold these people and be held by them

artem: //quite literally just bluescreens, artem.exe has stopped working, sits at his study and slowly, slowly, thunks his head down onto his desk, valiantly trying to ignore the fast pulse of his heart

luke: //manically vents about it to peanut who, by virtue of being a bird, doesnt get it. just keeps talking at peanut to get a grasp of it all and then lies down on the floor, overwhelmed

mc, sitting in her apartment watching some netflix: ...why do i inexplicably feel as if something very, very important has just happened?

phase 4 of the nxx team polycule is basically:

pining: extreme difficulty level

because pining is already hard when ur pining for one person. what more for an additional 3 more people. and those additional 3 more people are pining back.

and all these boys are SOOOO OBVIOUS with their romantic feelings, in their own special way. the way they show their affection to mc starts to bleed into their interactions with the others and everybody can CLEARLY SEE WHAT IS GOING ON, LOL, but also all the boys are too chickenshit to confront it, because if they confront it, what will even happen??? being in love with each other, all of them, thats going to be such a complicated fucking relationship, holy shit. it's 2030, yeah, being a polyamorous group relationship isnt completely unheard of, but sue them, theyre scared.

but mc (who i forgot to mention already knows of the boys' romantic feelings for her, shes just hasnt made a move yet on any of them because SHES IN LOVE WITH ALL OF THEM AS WELL and shes been trying to figure out how the hell to make that work, she cant bear to choose just one of them, she'd be heartbroken over leaving the rest of them behind) sees that the nxx investigation team is now all pining for each other FULLY and she kinda wants to laugh when she realizes whats going on because like, what are the chances? that this would happen? that they all found each other and their feelings fell into just the right place for nobody to be left behind?

theyre all scared, she can tell. and she is as well, she wont lie.

but shes always had a belief that goodness can prevail with the right work.

and love is one of the greatest goods out there.

phase 5 of the nxx team polycule:

It's Time For Communication, Baby!!!!!

the exact scenes of how this happens is a bit vague to me. it could go two ways: mc going to each of the boys independently to talk about feelings, hers about everybodys and his about everybodys as well. OR they have a fucking meeting about it all together and artem literally schedules it in his google calendar, or something.

either way, they like, actually talk about this. starts casual, maybe over a chill date, maybe over dinner at a nice restaurant, maybe over a walk in the park as the sun is starting to set. but where ever it happens, the end result is the same: a heart is laid out bare and it is taken in gentle, grateful hands.

they all have their quirks and tendencies and habits. and those will inevitable clash against each other. theyll have their arguments, theyll get upset, theyll sulk and be angry, sometimes. but also...

theyll see each other smile and feel like their love shining so brightly. theyll reach out for another's hand and be held in such a way that makes them think that their heart is in a safe place. theyll love each other and theyll put in the work to continue loving each other. because goodness will prevail.

and they all see each other as the most good people in the world.

so whatever happens, theyll get through it together.
